A Brass Spreading Dowel is engineered with a slotted or segmented body.
When the user inserts a screw, the screw threads push outward on the internal walls, causing the dowel to expand radially inside the hole. This expansion locks the dowel firmly in place, increasing surface contact and load-bearing capacity.
