A Copper Driving Head (also called a Driving Stud or Driving Cap) is a hardened tool attachment used during the installation of copper-bonded ground rods. It is fitted to the top end of the rod to absorb the hammering force and prevent the rod from deforming or “mushrooming" while being driven into the ground.
