A Solid Copper Ground Rod is a grounding electrode made entirely from high-purity copper, designed to provide an exceptionally low-resistance path to earth for fault currents and lightning surges. Unlike copper-bonded rods (which have a steel core), these rods are pure copper throughout, offering superior corrosion resistance and conductivity, making them ideal for long-term grounding in highly corrosive soil conditions.
solid copper ground rod, pure copper earth rod, copper grounding electrode, solid copper earthing rod, 99.9% copper ground rod, corrosion resistant copper rod, electrical grounding copper rod, lightning protection copper rod, IEC 62561 copper rod, UL 467 ground rod, marine grade copper ground rod, telecom earthing copper rod, renewable energy copper ground rod, high conductivity copper rod, copper electrical earthing electrode
Material: 99.9% pure electrolytic copper.
Design: Solid, one-piece copper construction with a pointed driving end.
Corrosion Resistance: Exceptional, even in highly acidic or saline soils.
Electrical Performance: Very low resistance due to copper’s high conductivity (≥ 100% IACS).
Longevity: Lifespan often exceeds decades, even in aggressive environments.
Electrical Earthing Systems – Domestic, commercial, and industrial installations.
Lightning Protection Systems – As main earth electrodes.
Telecommunication & Broadcast Towers – Protection from voltage surges.
Marine & Coastal Installations – Where high salinity corrodes other metals.
Renewable Energy Systems – Grounding for solar, wind, and hybrid installations.

Standard Solid Copper Rods – For general earthing use.
Heavy-Duty Extra Diameter Rods – For extreme soil conditions and high-current discharge.
Custom Length Rods – Cut and manufactured as per project requirements.
Solid Copper Ground Rod (appropriate length & diameter)
Driving head / driving stud (to protect rod tip during installation)
Sledgehammer or mechanical rod driver (jackhammer with adaptor)
Earthing conductor (copper strip or cable)
Approved copper earthing clamp
Measuring tape
Earth resistance tester
PPE (safety helmet, gloves, boots, and eye protection)
Select Location – Away from underground services, building foundations, and fuel lines.
Soil Assessment – Prefer moist soil; avoid excessively rocky or dry ground where possible.
Mark Installation Point – Ensure it’s accessible for maintenance and future testing.
Position the Rod – Hold the rod vertically over the installation point.
Fit Driving Head – Place the driving head on top to prevent damage during hammering.
Drive the Rod –
Manual Method: Strike the driving head with a sledgehammer in controlled blows.
Mechanical Method: Use a powered rod driver for deep or hard soil conditions.
Achieve Required Depth – Commonly 2–3 meters, or as per design specifications.
Clean Contact Area – Remove dirt or oxidation from the exposed top section of the rod.
Attach Earthing Clamp – Use an all-copper clamp for direct copper-to-copper bonding.
Connect Conductor – Securely attach copper conductor to the clamp and tighten bolts.
Use an earth resistance tester (3-point or 4-point method).
Target resistance: generally < 1–5 ohms, depending on project standards.
Record test results for compliance and maintenance records.
Always check for buried utilities before driving rods.
Wear PPE to avoid injury from impact or debris.
Avoid installation during lightning storms or heavy rain.
Maximum corrosion resistance.
Highest possible conductivity for minimal voltage drop.
Ideal for permanent installations with minimal maintenance.
Complies with IEC 62561, BS EN 50164, and UL 467 grounding standards.
